The theme of the 2023 Joint Federal Pharmacy Seminar (JFPS) is “A Unified Force for Patient Care” which appropriately serves as an opportunity for Federal Pharmacy senior leaders to personnally update meeting attendees about significant strategic initiatives, challenges faced and opportunities for collaboration for all branches of the United States Armed Forces, U.S. Coast Guard, Department of Veterans Affairs and the United States Public Health Service. This session will provide an educational venue for pharmacists and pharmacy technicians to hear directly from their chief pharmacy officers on current key issues and future plans that affect their individual organizations and how these issues/plans impact on their local pharmacy operations and patient care services. Additionally, during this session, the federal pharmacy chiefs will provide updates service specific challenges, policies, and performance measures applicable to their pharmacy practice. The session will conclude with a panel discussion and the opportunity for audience interaction (Q&A) with the federal pharmacy chiefs.

State service-specific key “hot topic” challenges impacting federal pharmacy and solutions being formulated to address these issues.
Discuss strategic goals and the impact their implementation will have on the delivery of care.
List examples of federal pharmacy collaboration among the Services, the Defense Health Agency, Department of Veterans Affairs and the U.S. Public Health Service.
