CDR Jackie Finocchio is a Pharmacy Officer with over 14 years of experience in the United States Public Health Service. She has served with the US Coast Guard for nearly 8 years and is currently stationed at Air Station Clearwater as the District 7 Regional Pharmacy Executive (RPE) where she oversees 22 units including 7 clinics and 15 independent duty sickbays. Her previous assignments include District 14 RPE at Coast Guard Training Center Petaluma and Clinical Pharmacist at Federal Correctional Complex Butner with the Federal Bureau of Prisons. CDR Finocchio’s duties include serving as the subject matter expert for Medical Officers and Independent Duty Health Services Technicians on all things pharmacy from Tricare formulary to MHS Genesis Pharmacy computer order entry; from immunization requirements to national medication stockpiles. Additionally, CDR Finocchio provides clinical pharmacy services, seeing about 60 patients annually to help ease the patient care burden and coordinates large scale vaccination events, within her area of responsibility. Performing Pharmacy Assist Visits annually, CDR ensures compliance with national formulary, budget, policy, and law requirements. CDR Finocchio has deployed multiple times with the Coast Guard including most recently to Operation Welcome Allies providing vaccinations to 571 quarantined Afghan Refugees and previously to Aguadilla, PR in support of Hurricane Maria relief efforts where she led a team of seven people responsible for the care of over 1,000 deployed first responders. CDR Finocchio is a graduate of the University of Maryland – School of Pharmacy. She received her Master’s Degree in Quality Improvement in 2018 and holds a National Clinical Pharmacy Specialist certificate from the US Public Health Service.
