Dr. Jonathan Hoffman, PharmD, MBA works is a clinical pharmacist with the US Department of Veterans Affairs working under the Rocky Mountain Regional Network as an Academic Detailing Program Manager. Prior to starting a career in medicine, he was a commercial television producer and filmmaker in New York City. He is a graduate of Nova Southeastern University College of Pharmacy and H. Wayne Huizenga School of Business and Entrepreneurship in 2008. He immediately joined Intermountain Healthcare in Utah as a program manager developing new business supporting expansion of ambulatory clinical pharmacy services through funding from the national 340b program. In early 2011, he moved North along the Wasatch Front and joined the clinical staff at the George E. Wahlen Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Salt Lake City as a primary care Clinical Pharmacy Practitioner. Eight years later, he assumed his current role in Academic Detailing that initially had him supporting rural care across Montana and Wyoming. This was part of a National eDetailing pilot aimed at connecting providers using virtual care modalities like VA Video Connect and expanding prescribing of Naloxone. He continues to support the VISN 19 academic detailing program working closely with clinical staff across Utah and Western Colorado. His dynamic role within the VA is complemented by frequent collaborations with Dr. Jason Smith, PharmD on the production of short films used by their national service to supplement clinical consulting work.
