Elizabeth (Libby) Hearin, is a member of the Defense Health Agency Pharmacy Operations Division with a focus on informatics. Libby has been with the Department of Defense for over 20 years with roles ranging from active duty to government civilian, pharmacy operations to project management, and logistics to informatics. Her focus for the past six years has been on implementation, projects, and change management related to the DOD’s Federal Electronic Health Record, such as claim adjudication using the NCPDP transaction, Electronic Prescriptions for Controlled Substances, Clinical and Business Decision Support alerting, and data analytics for decision-making.
Libby holds a PharmD from Campbell University and completed the ASHP Pharmacy Informatics Certification. Pertinent to the JFPS joint presentation, Libby is a member of the Federal Pharmacy EHR Council, a joint VA/DOD governance group.
