Rob Silverman, PharmD, is Associate Chief Consultant for the Department of Veterans Affairs Pharmacy Benefits Management Service. In this role, Rob serves as a co-chair of the VA’s Electronic Health Record Modernization project’s Pharmacy Council and Director of the Clinical Informatics Service’s Pharmacy EHR Operations Pillar.
Primary areas of activity in Rob’s career with VA have included Electronic Prescriptions for Controlled Substances, Immunization Documentation, State Prescription Drug Monitoring Programs, Clinical Reminders and Clinical Decision Support.
Rob holds a BS Pharmacy degree and PharmD from Drake University, and has completed a master's certificate in project management with ESI/George Washington University. Rob has also completed the AMIA 10x10 informatics certificate program and serves as one of faculty moderators for VA's 10x10 course in the Clinical Decision Support module 7. His work on enhancements of VA's immunization documentation also led to Rob being a co-recipient of the 2016 Government Leadership Award from OSEHRA, the Open Source Electronic Health Record Alliance, an organization dedicated to support for the community of open source EHR systems.
