Major Emily P. Lucas is Diagnostics and Therapeutics Flight Commander 509th Healthcare Operations Squadron, Whiteman Air Force Base (AFB), Missouri. She leads a flight of twelve active duty members and six civilian members, oversees the daily operations to diagnose and treat the 12,000 patients who seek care and services at Whitman Air Force Base; filling 123,000 prescriptions, performing 98,000 laboratory tests, and taking 4,800 radiology images annually. She also serves as the Biomedical Sciences Corps Executive providing career development guidance to 20 officers.
Major Lucas graduated from Shenandoah University in Winchester, Va. where she earned her Bachelor’s of Science in Biology and Doctorate of Pharmacy. She directly commissioned into the Air Force February 2017, she completed Commissioned Officer Training in November 2017. Prior to her current position, the Major was the Hospital Pharmacy Element Chief at the 633rd Medical Support Squadron at Joint Base Langley Eustis, Va
