LTC Brian Kuruc brings a total of 29 years experience to the Army Reserve as the MEDCOM USAR Pharmacy Program Manager and Consultant to The Surgeon General (TSG). He is responsible for advising TSG and senior leaders of reserve pharmacy's capability, capacity, and readiness in support of global initiatives. He coordinates mobilization opportunities, training, credentialing of pharmacy officers and pharmacy technicians to support worldwide force health protection and healthcare service support operations. He serves as the Reserve liaison for the Active-Duty Pharmacy Consultant, Pharmacy Board of Directors, and DHA. He is responsible for developing, synchronizing and promulgating current strategy, policies, training, ICTL's and readiness requirements to deliver Soldiers capable of performing at the top of their skillsets.
He was prior-enlisted in the Quartermaster Corps during his first 9 years of his military career. Upon receiving his R.Ph. degree in 2002 from the University of Toledo, he was direct-commissioned into the Medical Service Corps. LTC Kuruc holds a Bachelor of Science with a pharmacy licensure degree, a Masters in Strategic Studies from the US Army War College, and is currently a pharmacist for Genoa Healthcare, a behavioral health pharmacy for Optum Health.
